UNLV runs away early from UA for a 72-53 victory
LAS VEGAS (NV) — Esmery Martinez had a double-double and Kailyn Gilbert posted her sixth double-digit scoring performance of the season, but Arizona fell to UNLV 72-53 on Saturday at the Thomas and Mack Center.
The Wildcats (6-2) did not get a single point from freshman Breya Cunningham or super senior Helena Pueyo.
The Rebels (8-0) got 21-point performances from Kiara Jackson and Desi-Rae Young. Sahuaro High grad Alyssa Brown scored four points in her 8th straight start for UNLV this season.
Arizona returns to action Thursday, Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m. MST as it welcomes UC San Diego to McKale Center.
