Wildcats cruise to 91-52 win over Arizona State in Tempe
TEMPE — Arizona knocked down 13 three-points shots Sunday night and used a 28-8 second quarter run to blow out rival Arizona State 91-52 at Desert Financial Arena.
It was the Pac-12 opener for both teams.
The Wildcats (8-3, 1-0) were led by Kailyn Gilbert who scored 19 points. Helene Pueyo had 18. She went 5-of-6 from behind the arc.
Jalyn Brown scored 19 for the Sun Devils (7-4, 0-1).
UA will play No. 21 Gonzaga on Wednesday at the Jerry Colangelo Hall of Fame Series at the Footprint Center in Phoenix. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. The Wildcats’ men’s team will also play at the event, taking on Alabama at 9 p.m.
