Dillan Baker and Dominique Acosta named ACCAC Player of the Week
TUCSON — The Pima women’s and men’s basketball teams won a combined five of six games last week at the Aztec Holiday Classic.
And the Aztecs were rewarded with a ACCAC Player of the Week honor for both teams.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Dillan Baker (Salpointe Catholic HS) earned his second nod this season as ACCAC Division II Player of the Week.
Baker averaged 19 in helping lead Pima to wins over Bismarck State (107-62), No. 5 ranked Snow (83-79) and McLennan (83-80).
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Pima sophomore forward Dominique Acosta (Nogales HS) helped the Aztecs take two of their three games against NJCAA Division I opponents last week.
Acosta had three straight double-doubles in points and rebounds during the Aztec Holiday Classic as Pima beat Bismarck State (89-40) and South Plains (64-61) but dropped a close game to Eastern Wyoming (79-75).
She averaged 16 points and 12 rebounds, grabbing 13 of those rebounds at the offensive end of the floor.

The Aztecs take to the road on Wednesday when they visit Scottsdale in ACCAC conference action. Game times are set for 5:30 p.m. (women) and 7:30 p.m. (men).
