Brendan Summerhill’s 2-run double produces 7th walk-off of the season for UA
TUCSON — It could have only ended this way.
Arizona Baseball snatched the Pac-12 Conference championship Saturday night at Hi Corbett Field on yet another walk-off win in the bottom of the 9th.
A two-run double off the bat of Brendan Summerhill propelled the No. 14 Wildcats to a 4-3 victory over the No. 6 Oregon State Beavers and a Pac-12 regular season championship.
Summerhill’s walk-off double was the seventh walk-off victory for Arizona this season.
The Wildcats win on Saturday secured their sixth Pac-12 regular season championship, and their first since 2021. UA was picked to finish 9th in the conference pre-season poll.
Saturday’s victory locked the Wildcats into the No. 1 seed in the 2024 Pac-12 Baseball Tournament, taking place next week at Scottsdale Stadium
Arizona (33-20, 20-10) will play 9th seed Washington on Wednesday, May 22. First pitch on Wildcats Radio 1290 will be 7:05 p.m. with coverage beginning at 6:50.
