No. 18 Wildcats rally to beat Washington and clinch spot in Pac-12 semifinals
SCOTTSDALE — Garen Caulfield and Mason White both homered Wednesday night for No. 18 Arizona as the Wildcats beat Washington 6-5 at Scottsdale Stadium to end the Huskies stay at the Pac-12 Baseball Tournament and UW’s season.
The victory clinched a spot for UA in the Pac-12 Semifinals for a second straight year.
Caulfield’s solo shot in the 2nd pulled Arizona back to within one run after Washington (19-31-1) took a quick 2-0 lead on Wildcats starting pitcher Bradon Zastrow.
White’s three-run bomb in the 3rd put UA on top 4-2. It was his 18th home run of the season.
Tony Pluta (2-1) got the win for Arizona pitching a scoreless 3rd and 4th innings after Zastrow had struck out the side in the 2nd.
Anthony Susac picked his 3rd save although he did allow a pair of runs in the 9th.
Arizona (34-20) will face a California team at 7 p.m on Thursday that they swept in Berkeley earlier this season. The Golden Bears beat the Huskies 12-0 in their Pac-12 Tournament opener on Tuesday night.

- Arizona & Stanford are in
- Oregon, OregonState and Cal advance with a win
- Arizona State advances with win AND losses by Oregon and Cal
- USC advances with a win OR losses by Arizona State and Cal
