Baseball advances to Pac-12 final; Softball falls 8-0 to open Super Regionals
TUCSON — No. 18 Arizona Baseball made it seven straight wins over Stanford, beating the Cardinal 6-3 Friday night in the Pac-12 Tournament semifinals while 19th ranked Wildcat Softball managed just three hits in losing Game 1 of the Super Regionals to No. 4 Oklahoma State in Stillwater.
BASEBALL
Starting pitcher Clark Candiotti escaped a 1st inning bases loaded jam and then dominated Stanford.

The senior right-hander (7-3) struck out 11 in seven innings of work allowing just a run on four hits with no walks. Candiotti retired 16 in a row
Brendan Summerhill blasted a 3-run home run in the 3rd to stake UA to an early 3-0 advantage.
Blake McDonald drove in a pair of runs.
UA (35-21) for the second straight season will play for the tournament championship. Last season the Wildcats lost to Oregon (5-4). This year they will face Southern California (31-27).

SOFTBALL
Cowgirls starting pitcher Lexi Kilfoyl wasn’t overpowering, just efficient in an 8-0 run rule victory. She struck out five and allowed only three hits.
Karli Godwin drove in a pair of runs and had one of Oklahoma State’s three solo home runs. Claire Timm and Micaela Wark had the other two.
Miranda Stoddard (6-9) took the loss for Arizona (37-17-1).
OSU (48-10) won for the 15th consecutive game at home in the post-season. The Cowgirls can clinch a fifth straight trip to the World Series on Saturday with a victory in Game 2.
