Wildcats walk off USC to win Pac-12 Tournament

SCOTTSDALE — The Cardiac Cats struck again, this time in Scottsdale to claim the Pac-12 Tournament Championship.

First baseman Tommy Splaine deposited a single into left field to score pinch runner Emilio Corona from second base and seal a 4-3 victory for the Arizona Wildcats over the USC Trojans (31-28).

Splaine’s game-winner was his team-leading second hit of the night. The Wildcats scored all four of their runs over the final three innings, completing a remarkable three-run comeback to clinch Arizona’s second conference title in seven days.

With the win, Arizona (36-21) claimed the Pac-12 Conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The Wildcats will learn of their destiation for Regionals on Selection Monday.
