The Bulldogs beat the Pumas 39-38 for a third straight win in the rivalry series
DOUGLAS — You would expect nothing less than a one-point game in the 153rd Battle for the Copper Pick.
Douglas held off Bisbee 39-38 Friday night to win the annual Cochise County rivalry game for a third straight season.
The Bulldogs (1-1) now lead the all-time series 82-63-8. The square off between the two teams is one of the oldest in the country. Douglas and Bisbee first played in 1906 and have been battling for the Copper Pick since 1944.
