TUCSON – Arizona has won their first four games of a season for the fifth straight year under Adia Barnes.

Kailyn Gilbert scored 21 points to propel the Wildats to a 79-66 victory over San Diego (2-1) on Tuesday at McKale Center.

Salimatou Kourouma scored 14 points while Esmery Martinez and Maya Nnajii each had scored 12 points. Helena Pueyo collected nine rebounds, tying her career high, to lead the Cats. Pueyo additionally had six steals and six assists.

Arizona led by 12 early in the game but trailed 40-39 in the third quarter before going on an 13-0 run fueled by three steals.

The Wildcats (4-0) will travel to Nassau, Bahamas for the 2023 Battle4Atlantis. Arizona is set to face Memphis Saturday, Nov. 18 at 12:30 p.m. MST.
