Cats to face Dawgs at Pac-12 Tournament in Las Vegas
TUCSON — No. 6 UCLA raced to a quick 13-0 advantage Saturday night at McKale Center and never trailed in a 61-41 victory over Arizona on Senior Night for the Wildcats women’s basketball game.
UA didn’t get their first basket until 5:08 into the game. UCLA shot 57% and won easily despite committing a whooping 30 turnovers. The Bruins dominated the glass outrebounding the Wildcats 43-17.
Londynn Jones led the Bruins with 16 points. Lauren Betts added 11 with 12 rebounds.
Helena Pueyo in her home finale scored 16 points.
UA honored seniors Pueyo, Esmery Martinez and Isis Beh before the contest.
UCLA (24-5, 13-5) is the 3rd seed for the Pac-12 Tournament that begins on Wednesday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Arizona (16-14, 8-10) will be the 7th seed and face No. 10 seed Washington on Wednesday.
