Marana looks the part early of being best high school football team in Southern Arizona
TUCSON – There was no let down for the Marana Tigers Friday night at Gridley Stadium.
Marana quarterback Colten Meyer threw for five touchdown passes, three to star receiver Dezmen Roebuck as the Tigers rolled to a 56-7 win over Tucson.
Marana (2-0) kept the foot on the gas against the Badgers coming off their upset win last week over Salpointe Catholic.
Roebuck, the No. 7 ranked high school football player in Arizona (On3), had touchdown catches of 3, 10 and 70 yards. The senior is committed to Washington.

Meyer also hit Jaxsun Sharp and Dominic Cillitto for scores. Andres Taylor and Jeffrey Smith ran for touchdowns for Marana. Backup quarterback Sean Roebuck came in late and threw a touchdown strike to Donnell Bridges.
Tucson’s lone score came on a big play by Ezra Spivey, a 75-yard interception return for a touchdown.
The Badgers (1-1) travel to face former head coach Justin Argraves and Cienega next week while Marana hosts a big home game against defending Conference 5A champion Gilbert Higley.
