Skylar Jones scored 16 in an 82-53 exhibition win
TUCSON — Arizona used a 28-14 2nd quarter Tuesday night to break open a tie game and beat visiting Cal State Los Angeles 82-53 in their exhibition finale at McKale Center.
The Wildcats will open the regular season on Monday afternoon in the 1st game of a women’s/men’s doubleheader. The ladies will host UT Arlington at 4 p.m.

The men will play at 8 p.m. in their season-opener against Canisius.
Arizona’s three sophomore leaders led the soring, paced by Skylar Jones’ 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor. Jada Williams had 15 and Breya Cunningham added 14.
The Wildcats didn’t shoot the three-pointer (3-of-11) as well as they did Friday night in a win over West Texas A&M (11-of-23) but UA did go to the foul line (15-of-21) and had 20 assists on 32 made field goals.
Head coach Adia Barnes used 12 players in the game although sophomore guard Montaya Dew missed the contest due to strep throat.
