The Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday released former Pro Bowl linebacker Devin White, who had not played in a game for them.
After a five-year stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during which he earned a Pro Bowl nod (2021), White signed with the Eagles in free agency but did not carve out a role.
In 76 career games (75 starts) since the Bucs picked him fifth overall in the 2019 NFL Draft, White recorded 566 tackles (40 for loss), 23 sacks, 64 quarterback hits, three interceptions, six forced fumbles and nine fumble recoveries.
In 2020, he had two interceptions and two fumble recoveries over three playoff games, including an interception of Patrick Mahomes in Super Bowl LV as the Buccaneers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 31-9.
Philadelphia (2-2) will host the Cleveland Browns this Sunday after having its bye week.
