Jason Robertson scored the overtime winner, his second goal of the game, to give the host Dallas Stars a 3-2 comeback victory over the Calgary Flames on Thursday.

Wyatt Johnston collected one goal and one assist and Roope Hintz netted a pair of assists for Dallas, which erased a two-goal deficit to complete a perfect four-game homestand. The Stars have now won 12 of their last 15.

Dallas’ Jake Oettinger made 26 saves in a strong goaltending battle.

The Stars solidified their hold on second place in the Central Division and Western Conference, trailing only the Winnipeg Jets in that regard.

Joel Farabee and Mikael Backlund replied for the Flames, who hold the Western Conference’s second wild-card spot and finished a difficult six-game road trip with a 2-2-2 record.

Goalie Dan Vladar stopped 24 shots in his 100th NHL game.

In a thrilling overtime that saw both teams come within a whisker of netting the winner, Robertson redirected Hintz’s cross-crease pass into the cage for his seventh goal and 13th point in six games.

Seconds earlier, Calgary’s Nazem Kadri rang a shot off the post.

The Flames staked a 2-0 lead with a goal early in each of the first two frames. Farabee snapped an eight-game goal and point drought when he opened the scoring at the 2:13 mark by toe-dragging around a defender and then lifting a forehand shot into the top shelf for a highlight-reel-worthy tally.

Backlund snapped a 15-game goal-scoring skid when he doubled the edge at 2:29 of the second period, sliding home a loose puck during a scramble for the unassisted tally.

Johnston put the Stars on the board 97 seconds later with a rebound tally of his own, finding the mark when a point shot was stopped to give him six goals in a four-game streak. He also has collected 14 points (eight goals, six assists) in an eight-game run.

Speaking of hot hands, Robertson tied the clash at 9:00 of the third period when he threaded the needle with a shot from the slot while on the rush.
